Review: The Woods Are Watching

The Woods Are Always Watching by Stephanie Perkins

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Genre: Thriller

Synopsis:

Bears aren’t the only predators in these woods.
Best friends Neena and Josie spent high school as outsiders, but at least they had each other. Now, with college and a two-thousand-mile separation looming on the horizon, they have one last chance to be together—a three-day hike deep into the woods of the Pisgah National Forest.

Simmering tensions lead to a detour off the trail and straight into a waking nightmare … and then into something far worse. Something that will test them in horrifying ways

Thoughts:

This is the book you should NOT listen to when one of your life goals is to run the entire Appalachian trail! Anyway this was a great YA suspense read. I listened on audio and the narrator did a great job portraying the characters. This wasn’t overloaded with suspense but it was enough to keep me interested. Definitely started out slow but picks up about halfway. I listened to this one in one day while doing things around the house. Love when I can do that!

This is a great addition to spooky season! Thank you to Penguin Random House Audio for the gifted audiobook and Penguin Teen for the gifted ebook!
